Dr. Vaughan completed his medical training and his masters degree in Public Health and Health Administration/Policy at the University of Oklahoma. He then moved to Dallas for his General Surgery training at Baylor University Medical Center. Dr. Vaughan completed a fellowship in Pediatric Trauma at Children’s Medical Center and then he moved on to become the first Surgical Critical Care Fellow at Baylor University Medical Center.
He has an interest in Emergency General Surgery, Blunt Chest Trauma, Extracorporeal Life Support, and Pediatric Trauma as well as a special focus on Surgical and Trauma quality improvement.
Dr. Vaughan is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery with added qualifications in Critical Care. Professional Memberships include American College of Surgeons, Society of Baylor Surgeons, Dallas County Medical Society, Pediatric Trauma Society, Society of Critical Care Medicine, Society of Critical Care Medicine Pediatric Division, and Texas Medical Association.
In his free time, Dr. Vaughan enjoys travel, trail running, weight lifting, cooking, attending concerts, yoga, and golf.
