Jonathan Hughes, DO

Dr. Hughes is a general surgeon dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centered surgical care. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology from Texas A&M University before earning both his Medical Degree and Master’s of Public Health at the University of North Texas Health Science Center. His public health training emphasized improving access to care and health outcomes for underserved populations, a perspective that continues to inform his approach to patient care.

Dr. Hughes completed his general surgery residency in Fort Worth, Texas, where he received broad surgical training in the management of both routine and complex conditions. He subsequently joined Texas Health Care and practices the full spectrum of general surgery with clinical interests including foregut surgery, abdominal wall reconstruction and hernia repair, endocrine, colorectal, and cancer surgery. He employs open, laparoscopic, and robotic surgical techniques, selecting the approach that best aligns with each patient’s condition, anatomy, and treatment goals.
