Testimonials

Having reached my late 60’s, I encountered a common problem which was numbness of my right thumb and index finger during the night. I ignored the symptoms at first because the symptoms would come and go. At that time my daily work as a physician was not affected by the condition. I suspected carpal tunnel syndrome, but my symptoms were unusual and even a cervical nerve problem seemed possible. After dealing with increasingly frequent nights of awakening with numb fingers, I had nerve conduction tests that confirmed carpal tunnel. By that time, I was beginning to have some daytime symptoms also. Thus, after several years of putting off surgery, I chose Dr. Eric Wroten to do the necessary surgery which was done in January of 2013. The effect was immediate, and I missed no work time in my office except for the day of surgery. My fingers have not been numb since! Dr. Wroten handled everything with ease and with a professional approach that only a fellow physician can appreciate. Thank you Dr. Wroten.

In October 2013, while attempting to board a boat, our 11 year old son caught his finger between the boat and dock. Unfortunately, half of his right index finger was ripped off. The first phone call my husband made was to Dr. Wroten’s office. We were told to take him to the hospital where Dr. Wroten would meet us. That evening, our son endured a 3 hour surgery where Dr. Wroten attempted to reattach his finger. Subsequently, Parker had multiple follow-up surgeries. Throughout the ordeal, numerous doctors felt amputation was imminent. If Dr. Wroten would not have been the doctor that met us at the hospital that day, Parker’s finger would have been amputated. However, because of Dr. Wroten’s persistence and knowledge, Parker was back playing baseball in the spring of 2014. 15 months later, Parker has a functioning index finger that allows him to continue to do the things he loves!
Dr. Wroten has an amazing gift that allows him to relate to his patients and their parents. His ability to explain everything to our son in a way he understood helped to ease his fears, as well as ours, and made a horrific situation bearable. We can never thank Dr. Wroten enough for his willingness to do whatever it took to achieve a positive result.
We are forever grateful to Dr. Wroten and appreciate his determination and the fact that he never gave up on Parker!

In my 8th grade year, my left middle finger was smashed by a huge piece of theater lighting equipment at school. I had to be rushed straight to the emergency room as my fingernail was literally blown off. At the ER, they sewed it back on and said that the bone was crushed. The doctor recommended that I go see a hand surgeon. My finger was severely crushed and deformed. At the time, my basketball season was most likely over with. When I went to Dr. Wroten, he recommended to me that I undergo surgery. The surgery process could not have gone better. Dr. Wroten assured me and my family that he would take care of everything, and he did just that! Following the surgery, it took only two weeks to recover and I was back to playing basketball. The terrible numbness and other pain I had quickly went away days after surgery. He removed my nail and repaired the nail bed. I was very nervous not knowing how it would look when it grew back.
Three years later, my finger looks and feels as normal as ever. If you looked at it today, you would not be able to tell it had ever been seriously injured! Without Dr. Wroten, my finger would never have feeling or looked normal. We are forever grateful for the way he made us feel.
Even to this day, whenever I see him at one of my bothers’ games, he wants to look at my finger and make sure that it’s still doing well!

Dr. Wroten has taken care of my wife, my mother, and my son. He takes him time with each patient and eases their concerns. Not only is Dr. Wroten the most skilled hand doctor in Fort Worth, he is probably the most caring physician my family has ever had.
