Michael Phillips, MD, is a pain management and regenerative medicine physician with office locations in Arlington, Cleburne, and Fort Worth, TX. He was the first doctor in the Dallas-Fort Worth area to perform autologous intradiscal stem cell (BMAC) injections for lumbar disc disease as well as cervical spine intradiscal stem cell injections, and implant a Medtronic MRI compatible spinal cord stimulator system. He was also the first Texas specialist to implant a gold-plated Medtronic stimulator system for a patient with a titanium allergy and the first physician in North Texas to implant the Abbott dorsal root ganglion (DRG) stimulator system for complex regional pain syndrome as well as one of the 1st 50 doctors in the US trained to do the procedure. Dr. Phillips was also one of the first 50 doctors in the country to receive training in and implant the Vertiflex® Superion® indirect decompression spacer device for lumbar spinal stenosis.
He grew up in Stamford, Texas, near Abilene and earned his B.S. with honors from Texas Tech University and his medical degree from Texas Tech University HSC School of Medicine. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine and a residency in Anesthesiology at the University of Texas HSC in San Antonio, where he served as chief resident. Dr. Phillips currently serves on executive boards and medical executive committees, and has served as medical director of several prestigious surgery centers in the DFW Metroplex.
He is board certified in Anesthesiology, a diplomat of the American Board of Pain Medicine, and a member of the American Academy of Pain Medicine, International Spine Intervention Society, American Society of Anesthesiologists, American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, and numerous others.
